Our Mission

The Virginia Uplift Foundation (formerly the Gamma Xi Uplift Foundation) seeks to empower and uplift the Hampton Roads area through community service, youth mentoring and leadership development

Stop the Violence 

Our goal is to continue a dialogue “kNOw More” that would generate responsible conversations about this epidemic that is plaguing our nation.

​This outreach program will provide VAUF an opportunity to partner with other organizations to highlight domestic violence, gun violence, emotional violence, psychological violence, sexual abuse and any other acts of violence/abuse committed against humanity.

Food Basket Program

There are 24-30 families adopted throughout the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season to receive the Holiday Food Baskets.

​These families are secured through various sources such as the Virginia Beach Human Services, local churches and other outreach organizations. 

Scholarship Program​

The scholarships are designed to assist those students who will be attending a college or university.

The funds can be used to defray the cost of tuition, books or other fees associated with their enrollment.

​Our primary goal is to encourage and inspire our youth to pursue their dreams and aspirations; all the while knowing that they have the support of their family, friend and their community.

Talent Hunt 

​The participants are recognized for their professionalism and artistic rendering of their creative performance. The Talent Hunt exhibition Program is held annually in the Virginia Beach Area and showcases the solo talents of youth in all music genres.

The exhibition serves as a positive and constructive family event for the entire community.

​The event is judged by performing arts professionals. Certificates of Recognition are awarded to all participants for their contributions to the event and monetary awards to the top three.

Golden Fold 

The group will be exposed to challenging and rewarding experiences that will richly enhance the lives of these young men. The Golden Fold will focus on helping young men establish written goals and strategies that will help them achieve those goals for school and for life; while becoming contributing citizen their communities. 

Through partnership with other community organizations, our goal is to provide needed mentorship, training, and resources to youth in the Hampton Roads area. 

​Our young leaders will develop and participate in a variety of local projects which will allow them to develop important team-building, leadership, and problem solving skills.  Activities which include community service project provide excellent educational experiences which are important elements in building a well-rounded leader.

Gold Tournament 

​While this day is filled with fellowship and friendly competitive excitement; we all recognize the purpose of this event and team together to raise funds and support the Foundation’s commitment to uplift our communities throughout the Hampton Roads Area.

​The funds support our Scholarships, Holiday Baskets, Mentorship, Talent Hunt and Stop the Violence initiatives just to name a few of our projects.
